Artist's Comments

I get artists asking me all the time how I get my acrylic paintings to look like oils. Especially, as they always point out, since acrylics dry so fast. Well, there are many things that are the cause of the quality of my paintings, a lot of it is training and technique... but there is one thing that I can share with all of you that will make acrylics MUCH easier to work with. And that is, the wet palette. This tool has made acrylic painting an entirely new world from what I used to struggle with in high school. You can buy wet palettes online and in some art shops. But I will show you how to make one here, and this is exactly what I use.

That's a really cool idea. Thanks for the insight. I don't often paint, but if I do decide to use acrylics in the future, I know what to use.

Ooh... Clever. ^^ I'm going to try that, considering I can find siliconized baking paper.

Great tips, I've used paper towels to keep my paints wet for some time, but never knew about using baking paper.
